Synopsis:
This novel presents two interconnected stories of human relationships, ambition, and emotional turmoil.

  1. The Story of Kingshuk

    • Kingshuk, a renowned gynecologist, lives a comfortable but monotonous life with his wife Romyani, son Tatan, and parents.
    • Seeking change, he buys a new apartment, but on the registration day, a patient named Kobita dies in the nursing home.
    • Kingshuk, engrossed in his own dreams and desires, fails to be by Kobita’s side, leading to accusations from his wife and a deteriorating marital relationship.
    • His home turns into a place of suffering instead of happiness.
  2. The Story of Deya and Shiuli

    • Deya, a journalist, is married to Soumya, a computer specialist.
    • Deya’s college friend Ritam tells her about Shiuli, a young girl tricked into Mumbai’s red-light district but later escaped.
    • Deya is assigned to write about Shiuli, but the publication of the article leads to Shiuli’s mother’s suicide.
    • Feeling responsible, Deya shelters Shiuli in her own home, causing tension in her marriage.
    • At their wedding anniversary party, friends mock Shiuli, leading to Soumya’s angry outburst.
    • The next morning, Shiuli disappears, leaving Deya to search for her—and for herself.
