Synopsis:
The Teesta River, a lifeline of North Bengal’s mountainous terrain, is more than just a flowing entity for the author—it is his soul’s companion. Having spent his childhood and adolescence in its embrace, Ashok Basu weaves a tale where Teesta symbolizes life’s eternal questions. The river’s waves reflect his personal experiences of building, breaking, and flowing forward.
This novel is neither an autobiography nor a purely fictional narrative; instead, it mirrors real faces from the author's youth—people who shaped his early years. The serene life of North Bengal is depicted through simple yet profound storytelling, where dreams merge with the river’s journey into an undefined future. A melancholic sky overshadows the narrative, making this novel a poetic ode to life’s ever-flowing path, just like the river itself.
