About the Book:
This book presents geomorphological studies of the major river basins in India, including the Indus, Ganga, and Brahmaputra basins and their tributaries. It also explores peninsular rivers and provides a detailed account of rivers state-by-state. The work examines snow-fed, rain-fed, and groundwater-fed rivers within a geological framework. The book is the first of its kind to provide expert opinions on all major rivers of India in one place.
Rivers are vital lifelines for a country, and understanding their dynamics, scientific properties, and socio-economic aspects is essential. While various sources provide fragmented data about rivers, this book aims to consolidate knowledge on all major rivers of India. It complements works of eminent professors and scientists from universities and research institutions that have focused on the major rivers of India for the last two to three decades.
The book is an invaluable resource for students, teachers, researchers, and planners engaged in developmental work, as well as for the general public interested in river-related awareness.
