H. Clifford Smith, formerly of the Victoria and Albert Museum, was a distinguished writer with extensive expertise in jewellery studies. He conducted painstaking research and utilized valuable sources that had often been overlooked. His travels took him far and wide in search of material on this specialized subject.
Dr. Vijay Kumar Mathur holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in History and is an esteemed Art Historian. He has worked at the National Museum in New Delhi and has traveled extensively in India and abroad. His visits to major museums in Russia, Belgium, France, Poland, and Thailand have greatly influenced his work. Dr. Mathur was also deputed by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations to Pakistan in 1992 for selecting art objects for the Classical Art Exhibition at the National Museum. He has authored three scholarly works: Indian Art, Art and Culture under the Sungas, and Marvels of Kishangarh Paintings.
