About the Author
Soumitra Chatterjee was born on January 19, 1935, in Krishnanagar, West Bengal. An iconic actor in Bengali cinema, Chatterjee's career began with his role in the film Apu Sansar (1959), directed by Satyajit Ray. Known for his exceptional contributions to theatre, film, and literature, he received multiple prestigious awards including the Padma Bhushan and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. Alongside his acting career, Chatterjee was also deeply passionate about writing, regularly composing poetry throughout his life. His literary contributions, particularly his poetry, offer a glimpse into the sensitivity and depth of his artistic soul. He passed away on November 15, 2020
