About the Book:
Environmental sustainability is an urgent issue that requires immediate action, particularly in a developing nation like India. This book explores the delicate relationship between environmental health, population growth, and sustainable development. It delves into the impact of overutilization of resources by humans, which has led to an imbalance in the environment and fragile ecology. The book emphasizes the need for restoring and protecting natural resources to ensure ecological balance for a sustainable future.
In India, rapid population growth further exacerbates environmental problems, contributing to increased health risks and social challenges. The author argues for a participatory approach to sustainable development, one that integrates solutions from the country's cultural ethos, making them more adaptable and effective.
Key Themes:
-
Environmental Degradation: Discusses how human ingenuity and greed have overexploited the planet’s resources, leading to ecological instability.
-
