About the Book
Social Justice Philanthropy delves into the approaches, strategies, and methods used by various philanthropic organizations in India to address societal problems. These organizations include community-based groups, corporate sector entities, family-run organizations, and government-run institutions. The book explores the priorities of these organizations, particularly examining whether they address the issue of social justice and support NGOs working on social exclusion related to caste, untouchability, ethnicity, and gender.
The book focuses on disadvantaged groups such as Dalits and tribals, with a particular emphasis on research related to social justice philanthropy concerning caste and ethnic groups, and their gender and class dimensions. This area has been under-researched in India, making this book a critical resource for understanding these neglected themes.
It will be of significant value to NGOs, funding organizations, researchers, and anyone working in the realm of social justice and philanthropy in India.
