About the Author:
Samaresh Majumdar was born on March 10, 1944, and spent his childhood in the tea gardens of Dooars. He studied at Jalpaiguri Zilla School and later moved to Kolkata in 1960. He pursued a B.A. in Bengali from Scottish Church College and later completed his M.A. from the University of Calcutta.

His literary journey began with group theatre, which eventually led him to write plays and then stories. His first published story appeared in Desh magazine in 1967, and his first novel, ‘Daud’ (Dour), was serialized in Desh in 1975.

He has penned numerous acclaimed works, including ‘Dour’, ‘Ei Ami Renu’, ‘Uttaradhikar’, ‘Bandinibas’, ‘Boro Paap He’, ‘Ujan Ganga’, ‘Basbhumi’, ‘Lokkhi’r Panchali’, ‘Unish Bish’, ‘Sowar’, ‘Kalbela’, ‘Kalpurush’, and many more.
