🖋 About the Author:
Father Paul Detienne was born on December 30, 1924, in the small Belgian town of Rochefort. He currently resides in Brussels. A Jesuit monk by faith, his mother tongue was French. His spiritual journey began in 1942, and he arrived in Kolkata in 1949. He was ordained as a priest in 1955 and later returned to Belgium in 1978.
During his time in India, he lived in Kolkata, Serampore, and Visva-Bharati, where he learned Bengali. Through deep dedication and talent, he mastered the language and went on to create high-quality Bengali literature. His literary contributions include two highly acclaimed and award-winning humorous essays, along with translations, essays, and anthologies.
