Synopsis:
For twenty-six years, Priyabrata lived under a false identity, keeping himself distant from family, friends, and colleagues. He built an impenetrable shell around himself, ensuring that no light, sound, or warmth from the outside world could breach his solitude. However, when Nirupama, the daughter of his childhood friend and a victim of assault, enters his life, his carefully constructed world begins to crack. The pressure of his suppressed identity and past mistakes force him to confront his true self, leading to an intense and gripping narrative.
Moti Nandi, known for his uncompromising, sharp, and realistic storytelling, delivers a thought-provoking addition to serious Bengali literature with Sada Kham, a novel that won the Sahitya Akademi Award.
About the Author:
Moti Nandi had a deep connection with sports and Kolkata’s old neighborhoods, both of which influenced his writing. His literary career took off when he won first prize in a novel competition dedicated to the memory of Manik Bandyopadhyay. His first story was published in 1957 in the weekly magazine 'Desh', and his first Puja special story appeared in 1958 in 'Porichoy'.
Apart from fiction, he also wrote extensively about cricket rules and records, and many of his works have been translated into multiple languages. He received the Ananda Puraskar and several of his novels have been adapted into films.
