  • Sunil Gangopadhyay
    Sunil Gangopadhyay was born on 7th September 1934 in Faridpur, Bangladesh. He was an iconic poet, novelist, and journalist. His career began with poetry and he went on to write influential novels and stories for both adults and children. Gangopadhyay was the founder-editor of Krittibas magazine, and his contributions to Bengali literature were immense, especially his works such as Atmaprakash and Eka Ebong Koyekjan. He was honored with numerous awards, including the Bunkim Puraskar and Sahitya Akademi Award. He passed away on 23rd October 2012.
