About the Author:
- Born in Banbarasati village, Debra, Medinipur district.
- Studied at Martala Satyeshwar Institution and Dashgram Satish Chandra Sarvarthasadhak Siksha Sadan.
- Graduated from Medinipur College (KB) with BSc (Honors) and completed MSc in Botany (First Class First).
- Started as a teacher, then pursued a PhD with a UGC scholarship.
- Joined West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) as a police officer and served in various districts:
- DSP & SDPO in West Dinajpur, Purulia, Murshidabad, North 24 Parganas, Howrah, and South 24 Parganas.
- Worked in West Bengal Intelligence and Detective Departments.
- Served in UN Peacekeeping Force (Bosnia-Herzegovina, 2001-2002).
- Held positions as SP of Birbhum, Bardhaman, and Murshidabad.
- Served as Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police.
- DIG of Darjeeling Range during the Gorkhaland movement.
- Commissioner of Police, Chandannagar before resigning to join politics.
