About the Author:
Bimal Kar (Born: 3 Ashwin 1328 / 1921) was an acclaimed Bengali writer known for his modern storytelling techniques and psychological depth. His childhood was spent across various places like Jabalpur, Hazaribagh, Gomoh, Dhanbad, and Asansol.
He completed his graduation from the University of Calcutta and began his career in various fields:
- 1942: Joined A.R.P. (Air Raid Precautions)
- 1943: Worked at a munitions production depot in Asansol
- 1944: Took up a railway job in Kashi (Varanasi)
- 1946-1952: Served as the co-editor of Porag magazine and later worked for Pashchimbanga and Satyayug
- 1954-1982: Associated with the weekly magazine "Desh", a platform where many of his best works were published
- 1982-1984: Editor of Shiladitya, a monthly literary magazine
