About the Book:

This book provides a comprehensive and critical account of postcolonial criticism and theory by an Indian scholar, a perspective especially significant given that the Orient, with India as a key segment, is at the core of postcolonial critical engagement.

Rather than simply summarizing facts or outlining ideas, the book offers an evaluative critical appraisal of three major figures in this critical tradition: Edward Said, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, and Homi K. Bhabha. These thinkers have made substantial contributions to postcolonial theory, and Rajnath critically analyzes their work in the context of both theoretical debates and practical implications.

  1. The Rise of Postcolonial Criticism and Theory

  2. Edward Said and Postcolonial Theory

  3. Edward Said: Resistance and Reconciliation
