Synopsis:
"Pichchil" is a unique modern thriller that brings fresh perspectives on the petroleum industry. Written by Tathagata Mukhopadhyay, a petroleum engineer with ten years of experience in the field, this novel is an engaging blend of real-life industrial intricacies and compelling storytelling.

Originally serialized in Sananda magazine for two years, the novel explores the world of oil exploration, drilling, and petroleum extraction—a relatively less-explored subject in Indian literature. It captures the high-stakes corporate world and the challenges within the oil industry, particularly in the era of privatization. With a gripping narrative and realistic details, the book keeps readers engaged from the first to the last page.

About the Author:
Born in 1957 in Chinsurah, Tathagata Mukhopadhyay completed his schooling there before earning his degree from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. He worked at Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) for a decade, spending extensive time in offshore oil fields at Bombay High. The vastness of the open sea and the solitude of deep-sea drilling platforms influenced his introspective nature, inspiring him to write.

Though he entered the literary world later in life, Pichchil became his debut novel and received widespread appreciation. His other works include Antoral (serialized in a magazine) and an upcoming science fiction novel. Currently, he is working on another industrial-themed novel while holding a senior position in a reputed organization.
