Summary:
Pakha O Badhan is a spiritual and philosophical novel that explores the eternal conflict between the soul’s desire for freedom and the binding forces of the material world. The story delves into the lives of Nandaraj, his wife Fullara, and their son Ekanta, portraying their struggles in the journey of life. The characters' pursuit of happiness and fulfillment is hindered by the sensual desires and memories that bind them, while their soul’s aspiration to break free from these limitations leads to a constant internal battle. The character of Gosai, a guru, lover, and spiritual singer, plays a central role in leading the way toward the triumph of the soul’s victory. The novel symbolically uses the metaphor of “Pakha” (wings) and “Badhan” (bonds) to represent the ongoing war within oneself between the soul's quest for liberation and the attractions of earthly attachments.
