About the Author
Sunil Gangopadhyay, born on 7 September 1934 in Faridpur, Bangladesh, later moved to Kolkata for his education. A post-graduate from the University of Calcutta, he started his career as a tutor before transitioning to various roles, including journalist, UNESCO worker, and editor. He began his literary journey as a poet and gained prominence with his magazine Krittibas. Later, he ventured into novels, earning numerous accolades, including the Ananda Puraskar, Bankim Puraskar, and Sahitya Akademi Award. Sunil Gangopadhyay was a literary giant, beloved for his contributions to both adult and children's literature. He passed away on 23 October 2012.
