Dr. A. Krishnan (M.A., M.Ed., Ph.D.), born in 1948, has made significant contributions to the field of epigraphy and literature, particularly by exploring the relationship between these two primary sources. His work has garnered recognition, with his first book Kalvettil Valviyal (1991) winning the Tamil Nadu Government State Award, and his second, Tamilar Panpattiyal (2 vols., 1992 and 1994), receiving the Best Book Award from the Bharathi Tamil Sangam. Dr. Krishnan's commitment to this field is further demonstrated by his Diploma in Telugu from the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore, and his training at the Centre for Cultural Resource Training, New Delhi.
