About the Author:
Subhodrakumar Sen (born July 3, 1939, in Bardhaman, West Bengal) was a distinguished scholar and writer. His educational background includes studies at Scottish Church Collegiate School, Scottish Church College, and Calcutta University. Sen was a prominent professor of linguistics and literature, having worked at Scottish Church College, Bangabasi College, and Calcutta University. He retired as the Professor of Linguistics at Calcutta University.
Apart from his academic career, Sen also wrote detective stories for children. He translated Sherlock Holmes stories for Anandamela and published a variety of works, including essays and books in both English and Bengali. His contributions to linguistics and literature were immense, and he passed away on September 5, 2009.
