About the Author:
- Pranabkumar Mukhopadhyay was born in 1937 on the auspicious day of Mahalaya in Kolkata. He began his studies at Kolkata University but did not complete his postgraduate education. He worked in the government services, eventually retiring as an Undersecretary.
- He had early exposure to Rabindra Sangeet under Debabrata Biswas, and his writing career began during his school years. His first poem was published in Desh magazine, and his literary journey continued through various platforms.
- Mukhopadhyay contributed significantly to Bengali literature, including Krittibas, Anandamela, and Anandabazar Patrika. His poems have been translated into various regional and foreign languages, and he has been honored with prestigious awards, including the Bishnu De Award, Rupashi Bangla Award, and Bangla Akademi Award.
- His works also inspired a telefilm on Doordarshan.
