Author Background: Sunil Gangopadhyay (সুনীল গঙ্গোপাধ্যায়), born on September 7, 1934, in Faridpur, Bangladesh, was a celebrated Bengali writer, poet, and journalist. He completed his MA from Kolkata University and began his career as a teacher and later worked in various other roles, including in the insurance industry and UNESCO. He is best known for founding the literary magazine Krittibas, and his extensive body of work includes poetry, novels, and stories for children. His first novel, Atmaprakash, and his first poetry collection, Eka Ebong Koyekjon, marked the beginning of his literary journey. He was a prolific writer under various pseudonyms, including Nil Lohit and Sonatan Pathak. Gangopadhyay won multiple prestigious awards, including the Bunkim Puraskar in 1983 and the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1985. He passed away on October 23, 2012.
