Dr. G.S. Khwaja (Khwaja Ghulamus Syedain), born in 1956, is a distinguished scholar in the fields of Arabic and Persian Epigraphy, Medieval Numismatics, Islamic Calligraphy, and Architecture. He trained under the late Dr. ZA Desai and holds postgraduate degrees in both Arabic and Persian Literature. Dr. Khwaja also earned a Ph.D. in Hadith Literature from Nagpur University and later completed an Advanced Diploma in Mass Media from JNU, New Delhi.

His career began as a broadcaster with All India Radio, followed by work as a journalist for an English newspaper. He is also a professional calligrapher (Khattak). In 1985, he joined the Archaeological Survey of India and currently heads the Epigraphy Branch for Arabic and Persian Inscriptions at Nagpur. Dr. Khwaja is an esteemed member of the Board of Studies and Faculty at the Institute of Archaeology, Delhi, specializing in Historical Archaeology and Epigraphy.

Dr. Khwaja has contributed numerous research articles on epigraphy and numismatics to both national and international journals. He serves on the editorial board of Puramanthana, a periodical dedicated to archaeological discoveries. His published works include Archaeological Glimpses of Indian Culture (1995), Diwan-i-Husain: Deccan Anthology (1998), Achaipur Tarikh aur Thaqafat (2001), Mashaheer-i-Berar: Biographies (2005), and Akbar ke Ahdmein Farsi Tarikh Nawisi: Persian Historiography (2009).

Dr. Khwaja has participated in various global academic forums, including a visit to Syria under UNESCO's cultural exchange program in 2005 and involvement in the World Heritage Society's Workshop on Conservation of Timurid Monuments in 2009.
