Book Description:

This book revisits eleven sensational cases in Kolkata, unraveling the intense twists and turns of each investigation. While fictional detective stories often unfold in polished arenas like the lush greens of Eden Gardens, real-life detectives operate on rugged, unstructured terrain—devoid of glamour, yet filled with relentless effort and perseverance.

In Goyendapith Lalbazar 2, veteran IPS officer Supratim Sarkar meticulously chronicles the untold stories of truth-seeking investigators. Covering cases from 1948 to 2010, this book highlights the Kolkata Police’s relentless pursuit of justice through their psychological insights, unwavering patience, and sharp intellect. It also delves into one of Kolkata’s most enigmatic unsolved mysteries—the Stone Man Murders—offering a gripping, detailed analysis of one of the force’s rare investigative failures.

This book not only showcases why Lalbazar is often called "Kolkata’s Scotland Yard", but also provides a fascinating peek into the real-life struggles of crime investigation. With its fast-paced narration and compelling case studies, Goyendapith Lalbazar 2 is a must-read for mystery enthusiasts and crime literature lovers alike.
