About the Book:
This compelling volume presents an in-depth exploration of family violence from a human rights perspective, delving into the socio-cultural dynamics and patriarchal structures that fuel abuse within the family. Despite significant research highlighting the various forms of family violence worldwide, the issue continues to be viewed as a private matter in many societies, often shielded by a culture of silence.

Through cross-cultural research, the book explores family violence in the context of globalization and development, particularly focusing on its intersection with patriarchal ideologies. Drawing from countries like the U.S., Canada, Germany, U.K., France, and Armenia, it highlights the complexities of legal interventions, the special groups affected, and the local barriers to change.

The articles in this volume emphasize the need for both qualitative and quantitative research and discuss limitations in intervention strategies. It provides an integrative approach to addressing the global and local challenges of family violence and aims to guide social change for a more inclusive and just society.

This book will be highly valuable to anyone working in sociology, human rights, social work, and gender studies.
