- Sagar Moy Ghosh: Born on June 22, 1912.
- Spent much of his childhood and student years in the peaceful surroundings of Shantiniketan’s Amrakunj.
- A graduate of City College.
- A lifelong admirer of literature, arts, music, and theater.
- Started his career in journalism with Nabashakti and Juganthor.
- Joined Anandabazar Patrika in 1939 and later became the editor of Desh magazine for many years.
- Actively participated in the Quit India Movement during his student years and was jailed once.
- His edited works include Param Romoni, Ashtadashi, and Desh Patrika’s Golden Jubilee anthology of stories, poems, and essays.
- Awarded the Narayan Gangopadhyay Smarak Puraskar by Kolkata University in 1982 for Ekti Pereker Kahini.
- Received the Ashok Kumar Sarkar Memorial Award in 1984 and the Deshikottama award from Visva-Bharati University in 1986.
