• Shekhar Basu was born in 1940 and is a well-known writer and journalist.
• He holds a Master's degree from Kolkata University and has worked for several prestigious newspapers including Anandabazar Patrika, Hindustan Standard, Business Standard, Anandamela, and Prabasi Anandabazar.
• A full-time writer now, Basu has written extensively for both adults and children. His first story for children was Bhagyesh Inu Chhilo, and his first novel was Sonar Biscuit.
