    • Spent his childhood in various regions, and in the early 1950s, he lived in Cooch Behar.
    • Attended a missionary school and boarding school.
    • Completed I.A. from Victoria College and B.A. from a college in Kolkata.
    • Postgraduate studies at Calcutta University.

    • Began his career as a schoolteacher and later entered journalism.
    • He worked with Anandabazar Patrika and made his literary debut with his first short story published in Desh magazine.
