About the Book

Culture Change in India: Identity and Globalization critically examines the transformation of cultural values, institutions, and ideologies in India under the pressures of cultural and economic globalization. The book explores how India’s unique cultural-social structure and historical legacy shape the trajectory of cultural change, enabling the nation to maintain resilience and preserve its identity amid modern global influences.

Yogendra Singh provides a comprehensive analysis of how globalization interacts with local traditions, regional identities, and national culture. The book delves into themes such as the rise of popular culture, shifts in leisure activities, evolving community norms, the influence of electronic media, migration, and increased intercultural contact. It also considers challenges to cultural identity posed by modernization and discusses India's adaptive capacity to navigate them.
