About the Book:
"Sinemay Double Feluda" (Cinema's Double Feluda) by the legendary filmmaker and writer Satyajit Ray explores the fascinating world of cinema through his iconic creation, Feluda. This book is a reflection on the cinematic adaptations of the Feluda series, one of Ray's most beloved literary creations. Feluda, the brilliant detective, made his debut in literature with Feludar Goendagiri (Feluda’s Detective Work) in 1965, and Ray later brought this character to life on the big screen.
In this book, Satyajit Ray discusses the process of adapting his detective stories into films, the nuances of casting, and how he approached the visual storytelling of Feluda’s adventures. As both a writer and filmmaker, Ray provides invaluable insights into how he balanced the literary essence of Feluda’s character with the visual medium of film. The book is a celebration of his vision for bringing the detective to life and a tribute to his contributions to Bengali cinema.
