About the Book
After spending twenty years in exile, David Richelieu returns to his homeland, only to find an execution warrant awaiting him for unspecified crimes. As he crosses the border, AI cameras mistakenly identify him as Cyomared, the former Prime Minister of a once democratic nation, and he is promptly arrested. His interrogator, the Minister of Culture, demands an answer to one question before his execution: “Why did you return knowing you will die?”
Cyomared's response—that he returned to meet the woman he once loved—does not satisfy the Minister. Suspecting that Cyomared has aided the Others, a group seeking to overthrow the despotic government, the Minister probes further. As the story unfolds, betrayal, personal ambitions, and internecine rivalry come to light, as the Others strive to free their people from a regime of surveillance and control.
A gripping tale of intrigue, dreams, hopes, and commitment to a greater cause, this book delves into how a nation's people fight for freedom, liberty, and dignity in the face of a corrupt government.
