Summary:
বেঙ্গল ভলেন্টিয়ার্স (Bengal Volunteers) was a secret organization in India's freedom struggle. Due to its secretive nature, the name "Bengal Volunteers" was unknown to many, even during the early stages of the movement, and was not recognized by the police. Most of the revolutionaries associated with this group were often reported by the police under the name of the "Yuganatar" party. The main goal of these revolutionaries was the liberation of Mother India, and their lives were filled with sacrifice and daring acts of courage. The stories of their struggles still send shivers down the spine.
In this book, Madhumanti Sengupta brings the Bengal Volunteers into the spotlight, offering a detailed and fact-based account of the organization. It is a masterful blend of history and storytelling, offering an in-depth look at the activities and sacrifices of the revolutionaries who were dedicated to India’s freedom. The book delves into the lives of the Bengal Volunteers, showcasing their dedication to the cause, their covert operations, and their perseverance despite immense challenges.
The narrative sheds light on the unknown or overlooked figures in India’s freedom movement, and also provides insight into the methods and courage of these unsung heroes, making it an important work for understanding the more discreet yet vital aspects of the Indian independence struggle.
