Book Description:
Baul Fakir Katha explores the hidden facets of Baul and Fakir culture, shedding light on their true place in contemporary Bengali society. This book delves into the lives, philosophies, and music of these wandering mystics. It offers an extensive collection of information, including Baul and Fakir songs, music notations, photographs, and their autobiographies. Through these elements, the book paints a vivid picture of the spiritual and cultural contributions of the Baul-Fakir tradition. The narrative also reveals their intriguing views on the body and mysticism, making this work both profound and captivating. The inclusion of "Fakiri-Nama" by Abu Taher Fakir and dialogues with folk music expert Dinendra Chowdhury further enrich the content. This book is an important contribution to the study of folk culture, mysticism, and music.
