About the Author:
Bimal Kar was born on September 19, 1921 (3rd Ashwin, 1328 in the Bengali calendar). His childhood was spent in various places—Jabalpur, Hazaribagh, Gomoh, Dhanbad, and Asansol.
- Graduated from Calcutta University.

Career:
- Joined A.R.P. in 1942 and later worked at the Ammunition Production Depot in Asansol in 1943.
- Joined Indian Railways in 1944 and moved to Varanasi.
- Served as assistant editor of Parag magazine and later worked at Pashchim Bangla and Satyayug between 1946-1952.
- From 1954 to 1982, he was associated with Desh magazine.
- Edited Shiladitya, a monthly magazine, from 1982 to 1984.
