Book Description:

Shahin, a young man from an ordinary family in Dhaka, travels to Canada with a theater group for a performance. Tempted by the promise of wealth, he illegally enters the United States without a passport, cutting off his path to return home.

  • While working in a restaurant, he sends money to his parents, gradually transforming their lives.
  • After years of hiding from authorities, he finally obtains a Green Card, allowing him to return to his homeland.
  • However, upon reaching his village, he realizes he is now just a visitor—the place he once called home has alienated him.

Asukhlatar Ful is a touching story of a Bengali immigrant’s struggles, his dreams of success, and the painful realization of losing his roots.
