  • Buddhadeb Guha
    A prominent chartered accountant and one of Eastern India's busiest professionals, Buddhadeb Guha is also widely recognized as one of the most beloved contemporary Bengali writers.
    His love for the wilderness began early in life, as he started hunting at the age of ten, though he no longer hunts. His passion for forests and jungles has remained central throughout his life. His experiences include extensive travels across Europe, North America, Hawaii, Japan, Thailand, and East Africa, as well as immersive encounters with the forests, animals, and tribes of Eastern India.
    His writing is deeply influenced by his experiences, and he believes that literature is more about the heart than the intellect. His first published book, "Jangalmahal," was followed by numerous other novels and short story collections.
    Among his many accolades, he received the Ananda Puraskar in 1977. His controversial novel "Madhukari" has been a long-time bestseller, and his stories have been adapted into films and TV shows.
    Buddhadeb Guha is married to renowned Rabindra Sangeet artist Ritu Guha, and he himself has a deep appreciation for Rabindra Sangeet and traditional folk music.
