Book Description

"Amader Sei Shahare" is a coming-of-age novel that captures the struggles and growth of Sorasij, a young engineering student at Sri Puram Institute of Technology, located on the outskirts of Bangalore. The novel begins with Sorasij’s entry into college life, where he shares a room with his roommate, Balark, who will soon be transferring to another college. Despite his impending departure, Balark takes a stand against the ragging by senior students, especially Ranvijay Kaushal, a powerful figure who dominates the college.

As Sorasij navigates this turbulent environment, he finds himself attracted to Damol Tori, but his fear of seniors prevents him from confessing. Meanwhile, Shreebidya, a fellow student, has feelings for Balark. Amidst these youthful complexities, Abir Majumdar, a senior, becomes a protective figure for Sorasij, shielding him from the harsh treatment of others. What begins as a typical ragging experience soon escalates into personal conflicts, setting the stage for a series of challenges and growth.

The story takes a pivotal turn during a college tennis tournament, where life comes to a standstill for Sorasij. As he faces betrayals, the pain of ragging, and the ups and downs of hostel life, he gradually matures and learns valuable life lessons. The novel explores the universal theme of personal growth, portraying that every individual has a story of resilience and comeback, much like a river that carves its own path.
