Smaranjit Chakraborty was born on June 19, 1976, in Kolkata. He currently resides in South Kolkata and is involved in his family business. His literary journey began with his first short story, which was published in the first issue of Unish Kuri, a prominent literary magazine. His first serialized story was published in Desh magazine.
Apart from writing, Smaranjit is passionate about poetry, football, and cinema, and these interests often inspire his work. His writing explores complex human emotions and relationships, capturing the nuances of loneliness, guilt, and hope in ways that resonate with readers on a profound level.
