Summary:
This book explores the relationship between education and power dynamics in society. Drawing on stories from ancient epics like the Mahabharata and Ramayana, it shows how the denial of education continues to perpetuate social dominance. It critiques the unchallenged adherence to traditions and irrationality that feed into the power structure, keeping issues like hunger, malnutrition, and illiteracy alive. Based on experiences from West Bengal and other parts of India, the book delves into the ongoing tension between societal dominance and popular wisdom, highlighting both the despair and the hope that arise from the continuous flow of argument and reason within society.
