Book Description

Abahan introduces us to Saujanya Sanyal, a young and responsible man who has recently moved to the Talatala Shreepalli area. Despite being a newcomer to the neighborhood, Saujanya is determined to revitalize the area's 40-year-old Durga Puja celebration with fresh ideas. He is thoughtful, creative, and eager to bring new energy to the community. His enthusiasm is met with acceptance from the neighborhood, but there are hidden layers to the situation.

Beneath the festive preparations, the true motivations of the residents remain unclear. Is there someone secretly plotting behind the scenes, wearing the mask of the traditional dance to manipulate the situation? As Saujanya becomes further involved in the Puja planning, he discovers that not everything is as it seems, and there are forces at play that could jeopardize his vision and the unity of the community.

The novel intricately explores community dynamics, sociopolitical undertones, and hidden conflicts within the seemingly harmonious neighborhood. Abahan delves into the tensions and intrigues beneath the surface of familiar rituals, blending everyday life with a sense of mystery and suspense.
