  • Graduated from Medinipur College (KB) with BSc (Honors) and completed MSc in Botany (First Class First).
  • Started as a teacher, then pursued a PhD with a UGC scholarship.
  • Joined West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) as a police officer and served in various districts:
    • DSP & SDPO in West Dinajpur, Purulia, Murshidabad, North 24 Parganas, Howrah, and South 24 Parganas.
    • Worked in West Bengal Intelligence and Detective Departments.
    • Served in UN Peacekeeping Force (Bosnia-Herzegovina, 2001-2002).
    • Held positions as SP of Birbhum, Bardhaman, and Murshidabad.
    • Served as Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police.
    • DIG of Darjeeling Range during the Gorkhaland movement.
    • Commissioner of Police, Chandannagar before resigning to join politics.
  • Currently MLA of Debra and Minister of Technical Education, Training, and Skill Development in the Government of West Bengal.
