About Tangail Saree
Tangail sarees are renowned for their handwoven cotton and silk fabrics, adorned with hand-worked butis, floral designs, or contemporary motifs. The unique characteristic of Tangail sarees is the extra weft buti, small motifs repeated across the saree using a Jacquard loom. While the cotton Tangail saree is popular for daily wear due to its lightness, the silk version adds a touch of elegance to any occasion.
Over 1,000 weavers and 2,000 ancillary artisans in Nadia and Bardhaman districts produce these colourful, easy-to-manage, and exceptionally beautiful sarees.
Colour, Texture & Wash Care Information
-
Colour & Texture: The colour and texture may slightly vary from the photograph.
-
Care Instructions: Dry clean only; cold wash is recommended. Natural dyes may bleed.
-
Embroidery: Slight irregularities are expected and enhance the uniqueness of the handwoven product. These small variations are what give handmade items their charm, which is absent in machine-made products.
-
Handwoven Nature: Missing yarn, slobs, and uneven contrasts are natural outcomes of the hand-weaving process, which make each saree unique and beautiful.
