About the Book
The concept of development initially referred solely to economic growth but has since evolved to encompass social and political dimensions, reflecting an inclusive understanding of societal progress. True development is now viewed as sustainable, focusing on human welfare alongside economic advancement. Development and modernization are interdependent, as societies can only progress by embracing modern values and approaches.
This book delves into the sociology of development, examining the dynamic interface between society and economy and exploring how cultural-structural development and economic growth influence one another. It also highlights the facilitators and inhibitors of development and evaluates the critical role of the state in this process.

-
Theories of development and underdevelopment
-
Paths and agencies of development
-
Urbanization, technology, and economic reforms
