About the Book
Samsamyik Rajnitik Siddhant: Ek Parichay (Contemporary Political Theory: An Introduction) by Naresh Dadhich provides a comprehensive exploration of contemporary political thought. The book traces the revival of idealistic political thought beginning with the publication of John Rawls' A Theory of Justice in 1971 and the subsequent revitalization of grand theory. Quinton Skinner's edited volume, The Revival of Grand Theory in Human Sciences (1985), systematically presents the ideas of those who advocated for the resurgence of idealistic thinking.
As a result of this intellectual movement, many universities across India have replaced traditional political theory with contemporary political theory in their syllabi. This shift has introduced new concepts like liberalism, communitarianism, libertarianism, postmodernism, green theory, feminism, and more into academic curricula. However, there has been a lack of comprehensive resources in Hindi on these emerging areas of political thought.
This book aims to fill that gap by providing a clear and structured explanation of contemporary political theory for Hindi-speaking students and educators. The content draws upon works and books of leading thinkers in the field and offers an in-depth analysis of these topics. It covers a wide range of political theories, from traditional concepts to more recent ideologies, making it an essential reference for students of political science.
