About the Book
In Hindi, there has been a lack of significant literature on the subject of counseling. This book is an effort to fill this gap. The entire book is divided into 15 chapters, beginning with the definition of counseling and shedding light on its essential goals. It provides a detailed description of the personal qualities, skills development, and professional attitude of a counselor. The book explores the roles of counselors in various fields, discussing the skills and quality needed for effective counseling. A detailed discussion on the counselor's role is also included from the perspective of various scholars.
Two chapters are dedicated to individual and group counseling, highlighting the significant differences and approaches. As counseling typically occurs through interviews, various aspects of interviews are also discussed in depth. The book elaborates on core approaches in counseling, such as cognitive and person-centered approaches. It explains the different stages of the counseling process and explores various perspectives on counseling evaluation. Finally, the book includes case studies discussing solutions to counseling-related problems. This book serves as a new and comprehensive effort, benefiting both teachers and students in the field of counseling.
