About the Book
Marketing Geography serves as a specialized study of marketplaces and marketing, blending geographical principles with the practical challenges of marketing phenomena. As a rapidly growing branch of Economic Geography, Marketing Geography focuses on the distribution channels that facilitate the movement of goods from producers to consumers. This book integrates the diverse aspects of the topic to provide a comprehensive overview of the structure and organization of marketing systems, making it an invaluable resource for researchers and students.
One of the unique features of this book is its use of examples from India, adding relevance to the local context. The book is richly illustrated with maps and diagrams, offering a clear understanding of urban, rural, and agricultural marketing. The content covers key areas such as the development of marketing systems, the spatial distribution of markets, and the behavioral patterns of market participants. The first-time inclusion of rural and agricultural marketing, along with corresponding concepts and methodologies, makes it especially beneficial to a wide range of professionals, including geographers, economists, sociologists, and agricultural marketing scholars.
With its thorough exploration of market-place exchanges, social aspects of marketing, and planning considerations, this work is ideal for post-graduate students, researchers, and anyone with a vested interest in the study of marketplaces and marketing systems.
