About The Book
Improving the Quality of Health Care Services by P.R. Sodani provides a crucial framework for enhancing health care services in low- and middle-income countries like India, focusing on achieving the Millennium Development Goals. This text is particularly valuable for policymakers, decision-makers, and professionals at the state and district levels, who require a deeper understanding of planning, strategizing, and implementing quality care within the health system.
The book synthesizes literature on frameworks for quality in India’s healthcare system, offering comprehensive insights into improving the quality of safe motherhood and family planning services. It addresses key areas like measuring, diagnosing, strategizing, and implementing quality health care with a special emphasis on reproductive and child health services at the district level. The work provides an invaluable resource for those involved in public health, health systems, and health policy, including students, scholars, and professionals in the fields of health management and performance management.
By focusing on India’s National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and drawing from primary sources, this book offers a detailed exploration of the quality management of health services, filling an important gap in the literature. The framework and strategies discussed in this book make it a critical text for anyone involved in managing or researching health care quality, particularly at the grassroots level.
