About the Book

This book, Tribal Sociology, offers a comprehensive and scientific examination of tribal society from a sociological perspective. It delves into various aspects of tribal life, including religion, marriage, family, kinship, and economy. The book analyzes how tribal societies differ from mainstream Indian society and explores the factors that contribute to the backwardness of certain tribal groups, despite their deep cultural roots. It not only discusses the causes of this backwardness but also provides potential solutions to improve their socio-economic status.

Through its detailed analysis, the book highlights the socio-cultural profiles of different tribal groups, their family structures, the status of women within these communities, and the role of religion and language. It also addresses the challenges faced by tribal communities in terms of social mobility and change. The book further explores the evolution of tribal movements during both the colonial and post-independence periods, as well as issues related to tribal integration and identity in modern India.

Overall, Tribal Sociology is an invaluable resource for anyone interested in understanding the complexities of tribal societies in India, their challenges, and the pathways towards social and economic inclusion.
