About Tangail Sarees

Tangail sarees are handwoven using both cotton and silk with intricate motifs, either floral or contemporary, often created using the Jacquard loom. The saree is distinguished by its extra weft buti, tiny motifs that are repeated across the fabric, adding an artistic and elegant touch. Cotton Tangail sarees are light, making them ideal for daily wear, while the Silk variant is more luxurious and vibrant, suitable for special occasions.

Crafted by skilled weavers from Nadia and Bardhaman districts, these sarees showcase the brilliance of Bengali craftsmanship, with over 1,000 weavers and 2,000 ancillary artisans involved in the process.

Colour, Texture & Wash Care Information

  • General: Colour and texture of the product may slightly vary due to the handmade nature of the product.

  • Wash Care: Dry clean only; cold wash is recommended. Natural dyes may cause colour bleeding.

  • Embroidery: Slight irregularities, characteristic of handwoven or hand-embroidered products, add to the unique charm of the saree.

  • Handwoven: Missing yarn, slobs, and uneven yarn contrasts are normal in handwoven products and enhance their distinct beauty.
