About Tangail Sarees
Tangail sarees are renowned for their exceptional handwork. They are primarily woven with cotton and silk and are distinguished by their extra weft buti, a design element consisting of tiny motifs intricately woven across the saree using the Jacquard loom. These sarees often feature buti designs and floral or contemporary motifs. While the cotton Tangail sarees are known for their lightness and suitability for daily wear, the silk variants, like this one, are celebrated for their vibrant and rich appearance, perfect for special occasions.
The Tangail weaving process is carried out by over 1,000 weavers and 2,000 ancillary artisans across the districts of Nadia and Bardhaman. Their skill and dedication result in these uniquely elegant, easy-to-maintain sarees.
