About the Book:
This book delves into Gandhi's philosophy of the body, self, and the other, emphasizing their interconnectedness and practical implications. Gandhi, as a practical idealist, viewed these concepts not merely as abstract ideas for philosophical contemplation, but as vital principles with deep practical relevance. The book seeks to reposition Gandhi's philosophy in the contemporary context, encouraging us to rethink the nature of the body, the self, and the other in a world where the body is often reduced to a mere ‘end in itself’, where the self is centered around personal interest, and where the other is seen as radically different.
Through an exploration of these themes, the book offers a fresh perspective on Gandhi's teachings and their application in today's world. It is a thought-provoking reflection on how Gandhi's ideals of selflessness, responsibility, and empathy can serve as a guide in an era of individualism and division.
